FAQs

Loft insulation questions, answered

How thick should loft insulation be?

The current recommendation is 270mm. We install insulation between and over the joists to achieve this depth, ensuring maximum thermal performance for your loft.

Can I use my loft for storage after insulation?

Yes, you can still use your loft for storage with raised boarding installed above the insulation. This keeps the insulation at full depth while giving you a solid surface for storage.

What about loft hatches?

We insulate loft hatches too. An uninsulated loft hatch is a common source of heat loss, so we fit insulation and draught proofing strips to ensure a complete thermal barrier.

Mineral wool or spray foam?

Both are effective insulation materials. We recommend the best option based on your loft type, access, and specific requirements. Our surveyor will advise during your free loft survey.
