FAQs

Cavity wall insulation questions, answered

What is cavity wall insulation?

Cavity wall insulation involves injecting insulation material into the gap (cavity) between the two layers of brick that make up your external walls. This fills the void and prevents heat from escaping through the walls.

How long does installation take?

Usually just 2 to 3 hours for an average sized home. It is one of the quickest and least disruptive insulation measures available.

What is Supafil 40?

Supafil 40 is a premium glass mineral wool insulation material manufactured by Knauf. It offers excellent thermal performance, is noncombustible, and is specifically designed for injection into wall cavities.

Will it damage my walls?

No. Small holes are drilled in the mortar joints, not the bricks themselves, and are carefully filled and colour matched afterwards. Once complete, you will barely notice any difference to the appearance of your walls.
